Meet Bella…

Howdee all,
Two weeks since we left our Home on Wheels in North Carolina and headed to Connecticut for a Family Christmas.  A very busy, fun filled two weeks…despite the sudden loss of my parents shining, smiling Star just a few days before Christmas.
We were happy that we were there for my parents to make a very difficult time a bit easier for them. My father is a person, who can not be without a dog….so…we searched and searched online until we found
Bella…Bella_006
She is eight months old…house trained..and a very sweet Dobbie that hardly barks.
Her owners both worked..the wife was pregnant and they had no time for Bella…they were sad to loose her after eight months but felt it was best for Bella…she spent over eight hours a day in a crate..not to mention the evening.
She  will now have plenty of attention.

And some obedience training…she had the tendency to jump on peopleBella_002Bella made herself at home and is very happy…Bella_012
And so is Dad…

Time to Head South!

Howdee all,

Yes..its that time of year…when the white stuff starts to fall..its time to head south.  We wont be leaving until next Thursday…not soon enough to avoid the white stuff.  The Homey is not real happy in weather like this. The windows inside are weeping Sad smileI have to wipe them daily so the water doesn’t leak onto the wood cabinets.

Snow _001Its supposed to warm toward the end of the week…Snow _002I hope so…I don’t want to end up frozen like this flower.Snow _003

One good thing about days like this is that it allows me time to get some inside work done. A blog post for Birdingblogs.com is in the works. I made a few phone calls, that I have been postponing, and I have home made soup simmering on the stovetop.

I have been watching the birds at my feeders.

They look as surprised as I am to see the snow..they are gobbling all the seed in sight.

Hope you are all Having a Wonderful Winter Autumn!

Stay Warm Smile

View from here

Howdee all,

Been busy lately…seems like I am always writing this.

I have spent less time on the computer, though, some would say that’s not true.

The view from Homeys window in Mom and Dads driveway.

Holloween around the block_001The bird house is empty now…The dogwood is showing is fall splendor

Holloween around the block_005And the last Cleome is blooming…Holloween around the block_007

There are Juncos, White-throated sparrows, Robins, and Grackles a plenty.

Today a Junco hit our Homey window… It died in my hand, so sadSad smile

Just a few weeks and we head south…

North Carolina…will it still be autumn there? What birdies will be waiting for us?

Sicksta…Did you fill up the feeders?

Are my flying Squirrels waiting for me?

What treasures await?

Hickory Nuts, hitting our homeys roof?  Sicksta said she picks up five wheel barrels full a week..YIKES..

Looks like we will make some Hickory nut tea, hickory nut stew, hickory nut loaf, and whatever else we can think of.

See you Soon!
